BSH, Roxby Council, the Environment Forum, and BHP are working together to remove the high number of unwanted cars dumped outside of the Roxby Downs township. This is a significant issue in the region, and is environmentally unfriendly and unsightly.
Disposing/Surrendering a Vehicle
If you own a car and do not wish to continue to use it or sell it, surrendering a car in Roxby Downs is easier to do than you think. Here’s what to do:
Surrender your number plates and cancel any remaining registration on your car via Service SA. Roxby Council acts as a Rural Service Agent for Service SA. Download the relevant forms online and visit the Council office between Monday-Friday 9am-4pm.
- Take your unwanted car to BSH Waste Solutions (located 10-12 Gosse Street, Roxby Downs). Your car will be disposed of FREE OF CHARGE . If you are unable to take your car to BSH’s premises, pick up and disposal of your vehicle can be arranged for $100.
For more information, contact Council on (08) 8671 0010 or BSH on (08) 8671 1154.
Report an Abandoned Vehicle
BSH are collecting unwanted dumped cars from BHP’s Olympic Village and the outskirts of Roxby Downs. If you are aware of an abandoned vehicle, please report it by submitting the below form, or through the ‘My Local Services’ app’s ‘Report It’ feature. If possible, please include GPS coordinates and/or as much information about the location of the vehicle, including directions on how to get there and any nearby landmarks.
The form is no longer active.
